The White Swan was a ship. It was supposed to arrive tomorrow, but it didn’t. The Fog came instead.

They say if the boat touches down safely, then he and his family will be protected. He doesn’t know if this is true or not, because it never happened like that with the other boats. It’s hard to tell who is who when they all look just so much alike. It isn’t easy to tell if someone else is really there, but you can’t help but see them in every shadow, every movement. You’re always on edge, waiting for an attack. It’s been three years. Three years since the ship arrived at their little cove. It wasn’t what he had expected at all. A tiny village hidden away from society and everyone knows about it. His father said he knew of it before. That it used to be a place where people went to live out their lives in peace. Nowadays, they are mostly gone and the only ones left are him and his mother. And the man who is meant to marry her soon…
